My bags are packed, my signs are made, the car seat is in the car, the nursery is ready, diaper bag packed, cameras are charged (yes, that is plural!) everything is washed...did I leave anything out? Do you think I am ready?!?
Only 3 weeks to go! (give or take) The countdown has begun. I made some signs for Bobby's bed at the hospital. I can't ever pass up a craft opportunity, no matter how small!
As you can see, we decided not to circumcise the little guy. We talked with the Dr. that is going to be our pediatrician, and he said he saw no need for it, he would rather we just leave him how God made him. There is a slight chance that circumcision helps to prevent urinary tract infections, but it is so small, that the Dr. said it wasn't worth putting him through the pain. It made sense to us, and so the decision was made.
Because of the hurricane, we have missed 2 of our last 3 birthing classes. We are pretty behind the schedule. There is one couple in the class that is due before me! My teacher wants to make sure I don't miss the next one, the one about pushing. She seems concerned that I'll go into labor before that class. She keeps telling me to take it easy and drink lots of water.
We went to the midwives last week, Bobby is definitely head down, but she thinks he is looking up. (If I lay on my back, he is looking towards the ceiling, instead of the floor.) She said it isn't that big of a deal, but it could lead to more back labor, which is more painful. So, I spent some time on all 4's last night trying to get him to turn over. Don't know if it worked, but we'll do it again tonight. Anything to ease some pain!! She also said she thinks I am having Braxton Hicks contractions. I didn't even know it. They don't hurt at all, just my stomach will get really tight, and feel as hard as a rock. It is too weird. We go back on Friday, so we'll see if they think he has turned over!
I'm getting everything ready. I have frozen about 5 meals, for after the baby, because I know I won't want to cook! I just keep preparing and preparing. I know I need to rest, but I feel like there is so much to do!

Cute signs!! We also chose not to circumcise - and if you are interested in any history of the procedure, we read this great book called, Circumcision: A History of the world's most controversial surgery. Fascinating stuff! And - I love how you worded it, it's how God made him. We just couldn't believe that God made a mistake in his design that we needed to fix!
Looks like you are ready...but you may want to remake the third sign to say "Circumcise" rather than "circumsize". =)
oops! thanks karen!
