Round Top 2011

I know, I know...I've been away for awhile. That's what having 2 kids will do to you, I guess! I decided to end this blogging absence with some pictures of our trip to Round Top yesterday! We had a BLAST! It was Lily and Julie's first time, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect! I found some items to use for my very first craft show that I'll be doing in November. Here are some pictures from our fun day!

Sister Shot!

Lily's first Round Top trip! Gotta start her off young! No complaining from this girl, she ws

We got some 'Junk Gypsy' tats! :)

8 month photos!

Lily is 8 months old!! I can hardly believe it. Her first year is flying by! 'Lily Sister' (Bobby's nickname for her) is such a joy to our family. She is always content and smiling.

Lily's 8 month achievements:
*Scooting around everywhere!
*Working on sitting up...she is getting more steady every day!
*Trying new foods. She currently is a fan of: carrots, bananas, cantaloupe, pears and squash.

I thought it would be a cute idea to do the same photo shoot for Lily that I did for Bobby when he was 8 months old. I even still had the polka dot rubber duckies that I used for Bobby!

Perfect.

This photo shoot seriously only took about 15 minutes. She is so easy to photograph! She loved the water and playing with the ducks. Here are some of my favorites, but if you want to see the rest, you can take a look here.

If you need us...we'll be in the pool!

With temps already well over 100*, it is pretty miserable outside. Especially if there is no breeze, which there is most of the time...luckily. What's a mom of a very energetic little boy to do?? Get out the pools and water hose of course!

If you need us...we'll be in the backyard in the pool!!

I love this.

I love watching their relationship grow! They are already so close. Bobby is very possessive and of his 'Lily Sister'.

My bathing beauty! We bought this pool for Bobby when he was Lily's age. It still is in perfect condition and she now loves it too!

Making Lily laugh!

He has waaayyy too much energy!!

Border Town Flea Market

Some friends and I have been having fun on Wednesdays visiting the local flea market! It is actually pretty fun. I've been able to find some good stuff! A lot of it is in boxes and brand new. It has become almost a weekly tradition!

Here are some of my favorite finds:

Swimming pool with slide...$8! I saw a price tag on it for $20...

Size 6 Puma shoes...$2! This is post-washing. They cleaned up really well!

This is my ultimate flea market find...after spotting one for $50 on my first trip there (which I turned down, I didn't want it that bad.) I was patient and spotted another one during my 2nd trip for...wait for it... $20! Uhhh, yes please, they sell for $80 in the store! Bobby has a thing for pirates, so I though it was perfect!

I brought Bobby today and let him walk around with us. I was nervous about this, because during our first trip, he was a nightmare! But this time I brought my new stroller, a sit 'n stand, and he actually did pretty well. I think he enjoyed the freedom. Boy was he dirty when we got home! When he and Tagan heard the music, they started dancing! It was so cute!

Friends!

Two posts from me in one week?!? Almost unheard of!! Ha ha!

We have now lived in Laredo for just over a year. Can you believe it? Sometimes I still can't believe we live here. I am happy to say that I now have friends!! God has been so great in providing Bobby and I both with some great friends. There is a large group of moms/kiddos that hang out during a weekly play date at a really great playground. Bobby has so much fun!! I do too! These play dates are mostly for the moms, I think! It's funny, all the moms are not originally from Laredo and moved here for their husbands' jobs! So we are all in the same boat! Here are some pictures of Bobby and his pals from the last couple months.

Mason, Jaxson and Bobby...the 3 musketeers!! All of their birthdays are within a few months of each other. It is so much fun to watch them play together.

Bobby and Mason...best friends from day 1 of Mother's Day Out!! They are always so excited to see each other!

Then there is Tagan...his first love, perhaps?? :) She is so adorable! She calls Bobby, 'Bob'. She came up with it all on her own!

It is so stinkin' HOT here!! It was 110* at least, today! Sadly, we don't have a pool, but the kids don't mind! All you need is a water hose and some buckets!!

Easter 2011

I hope you all had a great Easter! We had a wonderful time celebrating God's gift to us with church on Sunday morning, then we spent the rest of the day with family. I was telling Bobby about Jesus and how he died, but we shouldn't be sad because he is alive. He then repeated to me, very excitedly: 'He's ALIVE! He's ALIVE!'. It was so cute!! I've started having Bobby pray to Jesus whenever he is scared, which is a lot lately, he's going through a stage, I guess.. He hasn't said a prayer himself yet, but he closes his eyes real tight and folds his hands together and says 'AMEN!'. I can't wait to see him grow in his relationship with Christ.

We made some cascarones (confetti eggs)! Bobby had a great time with his cousins. I think this will be a tradition I will keep doing, even after we leave Laredo. It was so fun! We began saving eggs months ago, so we had 30 dozen!! I thought it was too many, but it wasn't! There were so many of us running around, it was just the right amount.

Bobby and Lily's Easter baskets. They each got a Bible (this one for Lily, and this one for Bobby) which I can't wait to start reading to them. They also each got a bathing suit (Another tradition I am starting. I borrowed the idea from Erin W.) Bobby's basket unintentionally had a pirate theme. His bathing suit had a skull on it, he got a pirate potato head, and a ball with skulls on it also. He loved the potato head! I wish I would have gotten a picture of his reaction when he saw it. It was priceless.

Hunting for eggs! All the eggs had $$ in them. Bobby got a total of $6! He put it all into his piggy bank. So fun!

Someday I will have a good family picture on Easter. I wanted to get one before we left for church, but Bobby was in a mood, so it didn't happen. This one will have to do! Lily was napping...oh well!

Abby and Ani getting Uncle Roberto!
Me and my princess!

He loved cracking the eggs onto his own head! Silly Bobby!!

I hope you all had a great Easter!! Oh- did I mention I made Lily's Easter dress? Go take a look at it on my other blog, sweet stitches!

First Food!

Sorry for my lack of posting, friends! I totally missed her 5 month pictures, and now she is already 6 months! Time is going by too fast!

We fed Lily her first food the other day, avocado. She was interested, but not crazy about it. She's wasn't really sure what to do with the food once it was in her mouth. I think she only ate about 2 spoonfuls total.

Hmmm...interesting...

Grabbing the spoon.

Bobby wanted to help, too. I love how his mouth is open, like he is showing her how to do it. He is such a good big brother!!

Happy girl!
