Work'n with what I got...

Being silly in the exersaucer!

When you don't have an extra room to spare to make into a play room, what's a momma to do?

Create your own play room!

This is what I have up in the house to give Bobby a space to roam relatively safe while I get some chores done. It's not very attractive and takes up way too much space, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, you know? (this will only work until he learns to climb...)

Don't let this happen to you!!!

When we bought this house, only about 6 mos. ago, we put in new Berber carpet. Very nice and neat looking, but a nightmare to vacuum!! The very first day we moved in, I borrowed my dad's Dyson vacuum, wanting to get a really good clean before we put the furniture down. Well, right away, we had 2 spots where the vacuum grabbed hold of a carpet loop and PULLED!! AHHH!!! Not my new carpet! So...we had 2 small spots where we already had runs in the carpet. But luckily, they are concealable. I just thought it was the power of the Dyson. So...mental note: 'Do not buy a Dyson'. Easy enough.

Ever since then I vacuum very sporadically and with caution, for fear of ruining the carpet even more. Well, last night I guess I was feeling brave, and decided to vacuum our bedroom with our regular old vacuum. Bad idea! It grabbed hold of a loop, and pulled again!! 'NOOO!!!' It left a run about 6 inches or more long, very hard to conceal. I was so mad!

So I looked up online how to care for Berber carpet. Should have done that earlier, my friends. It says that you should never vacuum Berber with a vacuum that has a revolving brush, and the manufacturer should tell you this. Well, guess what? That is the type of vacuum we have, and no one ever told us this! Ugh. So we need a new vacuum cleaner, and we have one up for the taking...Hmph.

Bad Vacuum!

How Embarrassing!

Guess what I did today????
I DROPPED AN INSTRUMENT ON A PATIENTS FACE!!!!!!!

It was so embarrassing. I have NEVER done that before. It landed on her upper lip, and slightly punctured it. I had to pull it out! She only had a drop of blood, and some inflammation. Luckily, she was very nice about it and told me not to worry. I just kept thinking: 'What if it had landed in her eye?!? I don't think I could have forgiven myself. I might have to invest in some safety glasses...

If you ever have me clean your teeth, you've been warned! Sorry if this story freaks some of you out!! (Erin and Jen J., in particular.)

I've been tagged!

I got tagged by my friend, Ashley, to share 6 random things about myself. Here goes...

Here are the tagging rules:
1. Post the rules on your blog
2. Write 6 random things about yourself
3. Tag 6 people at the end of your post
4. If you're tagged, DO IT and pass on the tag

Ashley asked for some pregnancy randomness. I could only think of one:

1) I really do not like people touching, patting, or rubbing my growing belly. Even people I know. Luckily, I have not had a stranger try and touch me yet. I had read in a magazine that it is perfectly OK to tell people not to touch you. So...I told my mom. After I got scolded by my husband, I retracted the ban on touching me, even though I really can't stand it!

Now for other randomness:
(I must not be a random person, it took me 2 days to think of these!)

2) I drink fresh cow's milk. Every week, we get our milk from a local Farmer's Market. There are 2 markets within 20 minutes from our house. It tastes just like milk in the store, only a little bit better!

3) I am slightly jealous of my little sister, Michelle's, new life at college! I stayed home for college, so I never got the living on campus, dorm room, away from the parents experience. She seems to be having a good time so far, and it has only been less than a week!

4) The very house I am living in now, is the same layout as the house my parents lived in when Casey and I were born!! Same city, different neighborhood. It took my dad a couple of days to figure it out, but it only took my mom about 5 seconds after she walked in my house for the first time to see the resemblance. In fact, Bobby's room was the room that Casey and I shared!

5) When Casey and I were younger, our step mom sent in some of our pictures to the JC Penny/Sears Catalog (don't remember which one). They called her and wanted us to come and do some pictures for the catalog!! But, it wasn't in the stars for us, we were just about to move out of state at that time, so we couldn't commit. We could have been the next MaryKate and Ashley!!

6) When I was in elementary school, I was on the Jump Rope Team. I still know some of one of the routines we jumped to!

OK, now for the people I tag:
1) Karen--any mommy randomness?
2)Liz--because you are married now, and it is time to start posting again!
3)Jen Johns--I bet with all your world travels, you have lots of randomness!
4)Joy--would love to hear some randomness from you!
5)Iris--don't know if you read my blog much, but it is time for you to put up another post!
6)Christina--I know you have random things to share!

HMPH!!

WARNING: Sarcasm below

I love it when you spend 1 hour cleaning tobacco stains off of a patient's teeth, then while they are waiting for the doctor exam, they go outside for a smoke...hmph!

We'll see.....

I had a very odd encounter with a patient today. One of the first things she said to me was: 'So, your pregnant?' That led to practically 50 minutes of her telling me that she is psychic, and reads peoples 'energies' and she can always tell when someone is pregnant, sometimes before they even know. She also knew something about our office that she shouldn't have known yet. Hmmm...

Here is a list of some of the things she told me:
~ You are going to have a boy...
~...but you want a girl.
~When you go for the ultrasound, they won't be able to tell you what you are having.
~You will develop gestational diabetes.
~I am worrying too much.
~I will get depressed, but not post partum, just depressed and worried before the baby.
~The baby will be healthy, we are both really healthy.

here is the kicker....
~you are going to have TWINS, so don't worry, you will get your girl.

What?!?
She said she was 'sensing' twins. I told her that I was a twin, and could that be what she was sensing? She said 'no' that she didn't know about that when she told me about the twins. She said that when I go for the ultrasound, they will only see the boy, and I will find out later that it is twins, and even though I am not that big now, I will get really big later.

For a while, I was eating it up, but then, I had to stop myself from putting all this faith into what this woman was telling me, and remember that God is in control, and I should put my faith in Him, not her. I never thought I would believe anything a psychic was telling me, but I got so wrapped up in it, it was fun and exciting....for a while. Then she started talking about my aura, or something like that, and she was looking into my eyes and telling me that I was too worried, and needed more vitamin B and more sleep. A little too weird for me.

She told me all this stuff while I was cleaning her teeth, instruments in her mouth and everything, which makes for an interesting appointment, that's for sure!!

We will find out very soon what we are having. I have always thought it was a boy, and hey, there is a 50% chance it could go either way, so she could be right. I'll let you know!!

Let's--Go--Fly--a--Kite!!!

We have been having such great weather lately, and last Sat. was especially nice. A perfect day for kite fly'n!! Rob and our friend Chris decided to try and fly our kite, and I don't know if it was operator error, or the type of kite I bought, but they couldn't quite seem to get it off the ground. (they claim it was the kite, that it was a weird shape, but they don't make just normal diamond shape kites anymore!!)

So, being boys, they took matters into their own hands. First, they tried sprinting down the street with the kite behind them, hoping that would get the kite higher in the sky. When that didn't work, they borrowed Terry's bike, and rode down the street like crazy to get it higher and higher. It worked pretty good, and also gave those of us watching a great show!!

Forgive me for the middle of the video. Rob wasn't paying attention, and the kite got stuck in the tree, and I lost it with my camera. Still a pretty entertaining video though.

Cool new invites!!

I know I haven't posted in awhile, and I promise to put up pictures of my house soon, as soon as I get all the boxes outta there!

I found this website, called Pingg, through the How about orange... blog. It is an alternative to evite, which I know we all use and love. It is free, and you can design your own invitations. I haven't used it yet, but I think I will for my next shindig!! I'm not exactly sure how the rsvp's work. Has anyone ever used it?

New poll!

Ok, Christina has no reason not to start her blog again. The results are in, with most in favor of Christina starting a blog. One person voted 'NO'...I wonder who??

Ok, time for another poll. I have started to grow my hair out long, and then I saw this picture. We were at a wedding, and I had a shawl over my shoulders (it was sooo cold in there!). We took this picture, and It makes me look like I have the 'Katie Holmes' hair cut. What do y'all think? (Not that I'll really cut my hair, I don't think I am that bold.)

Do you like me with short hair?

Yes! Take a risk!

No, stay with long hair.

New Poll

Check out my new poll to the right. The answers are long, so it reads like this:

Do you think Christina A.K.A. 'The Hungarian' should create a new blog?

YES!! I can wait to see what hilarious things she comes up with next!!

NO!! Too controversial for me.
