Round Top 2011

I know, I know...I've been away for awhile. That's what having 2 kids will do to you, I guess! I decided to end this blogging absence with some pictures of our trip to Round Top yesterday! We had a BLAST! It was Lily and Julie's first time, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect! I found some items to use for my very first craft show that I'll be doing in November. Here are some pictures from our fun day!

Sister Shot!

Lily's first Round Top trip! Gotta start her off young! No complaining from this girl, she ws

We got some 'Junk Gypsy' tats! :)

Border Town Flea Market

Some friends and I have been having fun on Wednesdays visiting the local flea market! It is actually pretty fun. I've been able to find some good stuff! A lot of it is in boxes and brand new. It has become almost a weekly tradition!

Here are some of my favorite finds:

Swimming pool with slide...$8! I saw a price tag on it for $20...

Size 6 Puma shoes...$2! This is post-washing. They cleaned up really well!

This is my ultimate flea market find...after spotting one for $50 on my first trip there (which I turned down, I didn't want it that bad.) I was patient and spotted another one during my 2nd trip for...wait for it... $20! Uhhh, yes please, they sell for $80 in the store! Bobby has a thing for pirates, so I though it was perfect!

I brought Bobby today and let him walk around with us. I was nervous about this, because during our first trip, he was a nightmare! But this time I brought my new stroller, a sit 'n stand, and he actually did pretty well. I think he enjoyed the freedom. Boy was he dirty when we got home! When he and Tagan heard the music, they started dancing! It was so cute!

Christmas 2010

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! It was our best one yet! We came in to Sugar Land a few days before Christmas and spent time with friends and family. Our trip was made extra special because Lily got to meet both of her Great-Grandmothers for the first time! She also met my dad (Pa Pa) for the first time. I hadn't been back to Sugar Land since my baby shower back in September, so it felt nice to have an extra long visit.

This was the year of the handmade gift!! Even my dad and little sister got in on the action! I'll post about that later. I loved it, gifts are so much more special when they are handmade, don't you think?

Here are some pictures from our visit!

Bobby and Noah, future partners in crime!

Two of the best gifts in the world!

This was my first year to really 'play' Santa, and it was so much fun! Casey and I made cookies (and ate them!), and had a blast filling the kids' stockings.

Family picture on Christmas morning!

My sweet Lily, with her handmade doll from Aunt Casey!

I love this picture, he looks so excited!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!! We had a great time hanging out with family. Bobby was 'Handy Manny', from the Disney cartoon, and Lily was a ballerina! So cute! We went to a Fall Festival on Sat. night, and on Sunday we went over to Rob's sister's house to have dinner and pass out candy. We went 'trick or treating' with Bobby, but actually only stopped at one house. He didn't really understand, and just wanted to go for a walk! Which was fine with us, we didn't have to deal with all the candy!

Cousins!! (First group shot with all the cousins since Lily was born) This is the best we could do, Bobby wasn't being very cooperative!

Lily, the ballerina! (You can't see them, but her socks look like ballet shoes!)

Handy Manny!

I was surprised that Bobby kept his costume on as long as he did. He was a trooper, but I am afraid to say, I think we have hit the terrible twos, folks! Bobby has been a stinker lately, but he is also adjusting to having a little sister, so hopefully this stage will pass soon!

Ahhh....the holidays are upon us! My favorite time of the year! I need to get crackin' on the last few Christmas gifts!! More on those, later...

Family visit

Aunt Casey, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Jay Jay and Noah came to visit this weekend! Good thing to, because Rob and his parents are out of town, so I would've been all alone with 2 kids all weekend! Ahhh! Not ready for that quite yet. Having 2 kids it so much harder than I anticipated. Bobby is getting more adjusted everyday. We all cry on some days. I feel bad for neglecting him, but I hold Lily so much right now...but I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! This is just temporary, we will all adjust and be just fine! (giving myself a pep talk!)

We only had 2 things on our 'must do' list this weekend: visit a pumpkin patch and take Lily's newborn pictures. Check!!

I wasn't sure if Laredo had any pumpkin patches, but thanks to my sister in law, Vero, we found one! It was really cute! Bobby had a blast running from pumpkin to pumpkin. Here are some of the cutest shots from our day!

Yee-Haw!

Newborn Photo Shoot:

So sweet!

Thanks Erin W. for the hat! It fits perfectly, and is so adorable!!

This one is one of my absolute favorites. She was so alert! You can really see how much hair she has!

Week of Fun in Sugar Land!

I got to travel to Sugar Land with Bobby to spend some time with family and friends this past week. We had such a good time! We stayed at my sister's house, and visited friends, families, favorite restaurants, and just relaxed with my sister and Noah.

Our week, in pictures...

Fun with Granny
Playing in the rain puddles at Granny's house! He loved it! This boy loves water, can't wait to teach him how to swim...

Playing with Granny, she is so much fun!

Fun at Aunt Casey's house

He loves his Aunt Michelle!!

Being sweet with cousin Noah. He is going to be such a good big brother!

Bobby took the worst spill of his life (so far...I am sure there will be many more). He slipped off a chair outside and hit face first, on the pavement. It looked so painful, and his lips started swelling immediately. Poor baby. But Bobby is tough, only crying for less than a minute...he is totally fine, his lips are almost all the way healed.

Strawberry pick'n
Probably the highlight of our week, we had a blast with friends at a strawberry patch in Alvin, TX. Bobby promptly found a spot, took a seat, and started to eat as many strawberries as possible! He would take a bite, and put it in the bucket...needless to say we took home more than a few strawberries with little nibbles on them.

It was so much fun and perfect weather to be outside.

This is what he did most of the time...

Traveling with the Bobster...

We have found out that we can't be in the same room with Bobby when traveling. It just doesn't work. I ended up sleeping on the couch at Casey's after our first night together. He sees us in the middle of the night, and cries until we come get him. Then, he thinks it's time to play. So when we went to a family wedding this weekend, THIS is what we came up with to try and prevent an early morning. It worked pretty well, he did get up a little early, but at least it was after 7! (sorry this is a bigger font...it won't change for some reason...ugh!)

It's good to be home, in our own rooms, in our own beds...can't wait for our next visit though...we'll be back for my 10 year high school reunion next month! Eek!

Let it Snow!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

I was so excited for the snow today!! I bundled Bobby up (2 pair of pants, 2 shirts, a vest and a hat!) and we went outside to see what it was all about. He wasn't so sure about it, it was cold, and wet. But apparently it tasted good, because he kept eating it!

After our snowy fun, Bobby took a nap and I turned on The Holiday (one of my favorite movies) and put up some Christmas decorations. Perfect!

Enjoy the pictures!

This Gerbera randomly started growing again these last couple of weeks. Poor thing, I think the weather confused it!!

I got these candy canes from the Nutcracker Market this year.

Eating....

Eating again...

Humoring me...

Ok. Time to go in!!

Ride'em Cowboy!!

Happy Halloween!
I hope everyone had a great Halloween and didn't eat too much candy! Bobby is still fighting a cold/croup, so we had a pretty low key Halloween. (Shoot...I made his costume, and he was going to wear it!!) We started with a little pumpkin carving last night, then today we visited my parent's and Casey and Jason's for a little trick-or-treating fun. (Ok, ok...I did the carving, but you know what I mean!)

Checking out the pumpkins!

Skeletor!!

This year was Bobby's first time to dress up! He went as a cowboy! He was so adorable in his little chaps and boots. He wasn't quite sure what to think of the boots, they were a lot bulkier than what he is used to. I saw a similar costume on Etsy, but it didn't fit my costume budget, so I made this one for less than $5!! This was my first attempt at making clothing and although it is not without it's flaws, I think it turned out pretty good! And best of all...it fits! I used his jeans as a guide for the chaps, and I measured Bobby's shoulders and used one of his T-shirts as a guide for the vest. Even though you can't see it, I also made a cute belt buckle with a star on it.

Yee-Haw!!

Howdy!

My Blog-worthy Birthday!

My yummy cake.

For my birthday, my sweet hubby surprised me with a night away! I wasn't expecting anything like that at all! My sister, Michelle watched Bobby (my first night away from him...sniff...) for us, which was so great of her. We really owe her one...Bobby wasn't feeling well and woke up at 5AM!!! After the night she had with him, Michelle said "I am definitely not ready for kids!". Ha!

Rob took me to a fun restaurant called Benji's. The food was good, but what I enjoyed most was the dessert!! MMMM....chocolate cake. It was so tasty! After dinner we were going to do some shopping around the Galleria area, but it started pouring, so we decided to go to the hotel.

Rob's dinner. I don't know if you can tell, but it is a pig snout!

The hotel was so beautiful! We stayed at the Hotel Granduca. We got upgraded to a better room for free! All because Rob was nice on the phone. Plus Rob had told them what he was doing, and they thought it was so sweet!

We even got matching robes! (I made Rob put his on for the picture...then he promptly took it off!)

There were rose petals, and candles...but no matches...

I continued my celebration last night at Lupe Tortilla with the rest of my family. It was so fun!

Happy Birthday to Us!!

Outside fun!

Enjoying himself!!

What great weather we have been having!! Bobby and I took advantage of it today and went out back to enjoy his new little jungle gym that he got for his birthday! I think he really liked it, the cold grass, the leaves, and the slide! He hasn't quite gotten it down yet, but I think he will be a climber!!

He wasn't having it at first, but after a quick snack, he was good to go! I just love pictures of babies crying. I think they are hilarious. I asked my neighbor (while she was carrying her crying 3 year old) if she still thought her kids crying was cute...she said "not so much"... so I guess in 2 years I won't think it is cute, but for right now, I think it is adorable!! And funny...poor Bobby. I laugh a lot when he cries...and take pictures!

That's better, now we're having fun!

While he was trying to climb the slide, he curled up into his sleeping position and laid down! So stink'n cute!!

Reach! Someday he'll be tall enough!

Go Bobby go!!
