reUNITED!! (class of '97)

This weekend, Robert (as he was known in high school) and I went to San Antonio for his 10 year high school reunion!! It was so much fun. He graduated class of 1997 from United High School in Laredo. The class voted, and chose to have the reunion in San Antonio. We decided to stay in Austin, to save money, and so we could see Robert's sister Becky, and his brother, Mike. It was a busy weekend for us, we did lots of driving, lots of eating, and not much sleeping.

I met many of Robert's friends, including his girlfriend from 7th grade (Roxanna), and his girlfriend of 1 week in 8th grade (Ana)! :) Everyone was so nice and easy to talk to. I was a little nervous about going, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but no worries! I had a good time.

The first night, we went to a Mexican restaurant and had dinner. We were sitting on the patio, and there was a band playing. Turns out, one of the guitarists was from Laredo and graduated from United a couple of years before Robert!! They knew each other, and since there hand percussionist wasn't there, Robert joined in for about 4-5 songs! Everyone was cheering him on by the end of the last song. He did such a great job!

Saturday, we went to a park for hamburgers and hot dogs, and later that night, we went to a nice restaurant for hors d'oeuvres, and mingling. There was a slide show, and prizes! Robert won a prize for being the 'Jack of all Trades'! (He had had the most jobs since high school).

Sunday morning they had a brunch, but we didn't go to that, we went to church with my brother-in-law, Mike. Then we went to lunch with Mike and our friend from Sugar Land, Anneke. She is going to school at UT to be a teacher. It was so fun to get to see her and hang out with Mike.
