18 Months!

I'm 18 mos. mom!

My 'baby' is 18 mos. old today! I can hardly believe it. Time has gone by so fast! Bobby is learning new things by the day, it seems. He is so much fun at this age, but at the same time, he is a handful. As a very independent little boy, he throws wonderful tantrums daily. They sometimes consist of throwing himself on the floor and rolling around, throwing his head back, or hitting himself. Nice.What is so cute though, is after he gets in trouble, or doesn't get his way, he throws the aforementioned tantrum, and when he is done, he comes to you for a hug...you know, just to hug it out. Talk about melting your heart!! How can you stay mad at that?? Bobby sleeps about 13-14 hours at night now,which is awesome! He only takes one nap now, which is about 2.5 hours. It is like clockwork with his nap, I know exactly what time he will wake up. How does he do that?

Some of the things he is learning:

Puzzles- I think he taught himself, because I know I didn't teach him!

Matching/categorizing- He lines up toys that match (rubber duckies, stuffed animals)

Dancing- He loves to dance! Today he was doing a fist pump in the air...adorable!

Climbing- He is a climber!

Building- He loves his blocks, he builds a really tall tower then knocks it down.

Notice the concentration! (Also how he used all the long rectangular blocks first, then the square ones, then the round ones. What can I say? He's gifted...)

Some words he uses daily (I know, I know...some of his words need a little help!):

Agua=Water

Buh=Banana

Ahh--mm=Apple

Daa=Bath

Da=Ball

Dada=Daddy

Ous=Outside

Hi=Hi

Owww=Cat (he is trying to say Meow)

Ahva=Oliver

Chsss=Cheese

Plss=Please

Whoa!=Whoa

Go!=Go

Uh-Oh=Uh-oh

I think he has trouble pronouncing words where you have to put your lips together, words that start with 'M' or 'B'. He uses 'D' alot for words that start with a 'B'.

I can't believe he'll be 2 in 6 mos. That isn't long at all, hey--wait a minute...that means I'll be the mother of 2 kiddos in 6 mos (#2 is due a week before Bobby's birthday)! That is crazy!! Then life will be really interesting!

Ahhh...life with a little boy is never boring!
