Sew many ideas....sew little time!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I am sick in bed on my first mother's day, and I have been passing the time by looking up ideas of things to make for our baby boy. Etsy is a great place to get homemade items, but it also gives you great ideas to do it yourself!!

I just love fabric, can't buy enough of it, and I love going to fabric stores just to browse and dream up new things to create. So far on my list to make before baby: nursing cover, shopping cart/highchair cover, all of his baby bedding: (bumper, bed skirt, curtains, and possibly changing pad cover), diaper bag (by Amy Butler, you can see it here), tiny baby shoes, and now, just added thanks to etsy, some cute onesies with appliqués of different shapes, animals, you name it!! I am going to be busy, I better get started! Hopefully I can knock out the nursing cover today, and get started on the diaper bag next.

Some of my favorite fabric designers are: Amy Butler, Michael Miller, and Alexander Henry. I found a great shop on Etsy , called Above All Fabric, that sells some of their fabric, she also has an online store. Check it out!

Here is a picture from my most recent fabric run. I got the blue and green fabric for the high chair cover from Hobby Lobby (on sale right now!) and I got the black/white (for nursing cover) and floral from Jo Ann's Fabric (I could spend hours in this store!), and the really tiny swatches of stripes and polka dots I found at a quilting shop by my office, Quilter's Emporium. I think I am going to use that fabric for my diaper bag. Not sure what I am going to make with the pink floral, since I am having a boy, but I loved it so much I had to buy it. :)

I will post pictures as I finish my projects!!
